Maryanne Kurtinaitis

Years lived in District: 16

It’s time to be more involved within the Boulder Heights community.  I lived here for 15 years prior (1989-2005) to working in the DC area for almost 3 years.  While I would not call living in northern Virginia “home” by any means, the experience did open my eyes for the need to be involved locally in any way you can.  I’ve been back “home” for 7 months now and the vacancy on the Board could not be announced at a better time.

I spent 22 years working in several offices of the Arapaho/Roosevelt National Forests, predominantly dealing with land use issues.  Prior to working at the Forest Service headquarters in DC, I spent 3 years (2002-2005) on the forest Fuels Planning Team working on boundary and access issues to treatment areas within a fuels reduction project.  Since October 2007, I have a position as the Lands and Realty Program Lead for the Bureau of Land Management Colorado State Office.

I’ve been involved with wildland fire and red carded intermittently since 1980.  Over the years I have served in dispatch, logistics, helitack, firefighting and support positions.  I am currently red carded as a Fire Information Officer and driver.
