MOUNTAIN EXPRESSIONS 2011

Since 1973, hand-made for you…dedicated to volunteer firefighting

Saturday, November 19, 10 – 5

Sunday, November 20, 12 - 4

Welcome to the online home of Mountain Expressions – a fine art, craft and baked goods tradition since 1973. We’re  looking forward to meeting you in person November 19 and 20.

Foothills artists, crafters and bakers are busy preparing for your visit. Every purchase you make at the sale contributes valuable funds in support of volunteer firefighters. We invite you to sip complimentary punch or cider, chat with the artists and browse through three rooms of unique creations in all price ranges.

For the second year, three area artists have donated special pieces that will be sold via a Secret Bid Drawing. Read further for details.

A downloadable flyer is attached to this page; please feel welcome to share it with friends.

Secret Bid Drawing

If you missed this fun new part of the show last year, you are in luck. Recognized artists have donated lovely pieces for your bids. The idea is to guess, in secret, the bid high enough to win if it is picked at the end of the sale. The drawing was a very successful fundraiser last year – come be a part of the success this year.

 amy-mundingerAspen Swirls by Amy Mundinger

 Website: www.amymundinger.com

As we move solidly into fall and anticipate winter, let this art quilt swirl you back into spring when the aspen leaves were chartreuse and brand new. Amy is a fiber artist extraordinaire who captures Colorado in her exquisite creations. Place your bid for a chance to enjoy, in your own home, this lovely presentation of vivid nature in layers of colorful fabric.

jean-watsonAt Awatubi Canyon by Jean Watson

You can feel Jean’s love of river rafting when you gaze at this piece. The varied hues in the water invite you right into Awatubi, a side canyon feeding into America’s treasured Grand Canyon. When you see this image in person, relaxation will overcome you. Your bid is a chance to be soothed every day by this vacation in a painting.

Old-Fashioned Bake Sale

Our scratch bakers are right now picking recipes for you – some simple and sublime, some fancy and holiday-ready, some gluten-free. Our bake sale table will be piled high with the results – cookies and bars from recipes that were handed down through the generations, pies that will be your dinner party dessert, breads to eat right away or freeze for later

Auxiliary Craft Table

This special display makes Mountain Expressions the place to get hand-made stocking stuffers, teacher and hostess gifts, pet presents and baby gifts that are reasonably priced. The hand-made part is what your gift recipient will appreciate.
