Garage Sale a Successful Fundraiser

Besides helping dozens of district residents de-clutter, the BMFPD Auxiliary's Garage Sale, held May 17-19, raised significant funds to support the Department. One family donated a Ford Explorer, successfully auctioned by Chief Benson. Net proceeds are estimated around $30,000.

Among the uses for the funds, The Auxiliary provides food and drink to responders during incidents and during major training or maintenance sessions. The funds also go to provide life-safety equipment. The Auxiliary conducts outreach and education programs including the Fire Safety Sale with fire extinguisher training, and orientation for new residents of the district.

Approximately 100 volunteers, including many responders, work together to pull off one of the largest community sales in Boulder County.
