CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

BOULDER MOUNTAIN FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

 

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, and particularly, to the eligible electors of the Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District ("District") of Boulder County, Colorado.

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a mail ballot election will be held on the 8th day of May, 2018, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  At that time, three directors will be elected to serve four-year terms and one director will be elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors.

 

Nominees must reside within the Director District that they wish to represent. For specific information on Director District boundaries, contact the Designated Election Official.  Legal boundaries for Director Districts are generally as follows (see map at www.bouldermountainfire.org/boardofdirectors for more detail):

 

Director District #D1 – generally upper Boulder Heights and Deer Trail

Director District #D4 – generally Carriage Hills, Wagon Wheel Gap, lower Lee Hill, Rembrandt

and Valley Lane

Director District #D5 – generally Upper Linden and Northwest Pine Brook Hills

Director District # D6 –generally Timber Lane and SW Pine Brook Hills (for a 2-year term)

 

In order to be a candidate for one of the director positions, a qualified individual must submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form.  Self-Nomination and Acceptance Forms are available from Joyce Colson Designated Election Official of the District.  Contact information is as follows:

The Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form must be returned to the Designated Election Official by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2018.  A Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form that is not sufficient may be amended once at any time before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2018.  Earlier submittal is encouraged as the deadline will not permit correcting an insufficient form.  Affidavit of Intent to be a Write-In-Candidate forms must be submitted to the office of the designated election official by the close of business on Monday, March 5, 2018 (the sixty-fourth day before the election).

 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the election will be conducted by a mail ballot and official ballots will be mailed to eligible voters, unless the number of parties seeking to serve on the Board is the same as the number of positions up for election, in which case the election will be cancelled.
